Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be confusing enough on its own, but it gets even more confusing when you’re trying to talk about it using proper grammar.

An SEO or A SEO? Which Is It?

Let’s break it down like this: typically we know that any word that starts with a vowel the preceding ‘a’ would actually be an ‘an’. So with that logic we would say ‘a SEO company.’ However, it feels weird doesn’t it? That’s because when you say S – E – O, the ‘s’ is pronounced as ‘es’ which would tell us we need to use ‘an’ instead of ‘a’. So I work at an SEO company sounds much better, and it’s commonly accepted to speak and write ‘an SEO company’.

Now, keep in mind when we say search engine optimization, we don’t want to write or say it as ‘an search engine optimization company’ because that’s wrong, and it sounds really wrong. We want to keep it as ‘a search engine optimization company’.

Now you don’t have to be confused about how to talk about SEO, even if you don’t know much about it. If you need help with you SEO, contact us today and let us help you out!
